Hi! Therapy with me isn’t lackluster or directionless; I am intentional and passionate about this meaningful work. As a therapist, I am warm, relational, and weave in humor (as appropriate, of course). I incorporate elements of several theoretical orientations including but not limited to: attachment theory, neuroscience, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and trauma-informed approaches. I have specialized training in both Brainspotting Phase One and Phase Two, and EMDR: two leading therapeutic interventions that promote healing from traumatic experiences and resulting cognitive, emotional, and somatic symptoms. I also have training in integrated mental health and am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Our mental health is interconnected with other systems in our body, so I find it impactful to have a mind-body integrated approach to healing. I am intuitive and perceptive to the unique nature and experiences of each person and will use a holistic approach to tailor counseling sessions to your specific needs.

I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Eastern Oregon University in 2012 and Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University in 2018. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Counseling Supervisor in the state of Idaho. I have over twelve years of combined professional experience within the mental health field including counseling, case management, peer support, school psychology, and community-based rehabilitation. I have volunteered for Idaho Counseling Association for eight years and have served on the Executive Committee as Secretary and Public Policy and Legislation committee member since 2021.

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and women’s issues. Other common diagnoses I work with are depression (including perinatal/postpartum), OCD, ADHD, grief, and phobias. I aid my clients in managing stress and transitions relating to relationships, parenting, occupation, academics, systemic issues, and more. I have extensive experience and training in supporting clients who are navigating identity exploration and changes including: self-concept, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and other developmental changes. I am committed to providing and advocating for culturally informed care.

Fun Facts

Divulging your life story to a stranger can feel well, strange; so here are some fun facts about me:

  • I am an animal-lover, but pugs have my heart. My hope is to incorporate animal-assisted therapy with my therapy-pug-in-training soon.

  • I have experienced my own traumas, grief, and anxiety symptoms, that have enhanced my empathetic insight. I also know from personal and clinical experience that recovery from these often-debilitating conditions is indeed possible, and therapy can help. I find it important to help smash the stigma of mental health providers undergoing their own therapy. Remember what I said about every human being needing support and guidance? This includes us therapists too.

  • I’m a “hobby herbalist” and enjoy learning about alternative ways to support both the mind and body (this is not a service I offer, but I have some excellent provider referrals if requested).

  • My favorite creative outlet is throwing a themed party!

  • I knew I wanted to be a therapist at the age of fourteen (hellooooo lifelong ENFJ). Having the privilege of knowing my career path at a young age has helped me conquer life’s hurdles with personal meaning and the mantra “I will get through this and thus be able to better support others in doing the same.” Cheesy? You betcha, but it’s true.
